The Department of Visual Arts will be offering study abroad courses to China for the upcoming Maymester. Students will be able to earn credit in Asian Art History, and studio credit in both 2-D and 3-D areas. Students will visit major historical sites in Beijing and Xian home of the famous terra cotta warriors of the Qin Dynasty, as well as spending 2 days at Tianjin University visiting their School of Artistic Design, which boasts over 1000 art majors and eight different degrees including Animation and Toy Design. The course will survey the ancient and the contemporary during the 10-day trip. Some of the sites on the schedule include; The Forbidden City, The Temple of Heaven, Dashanzi (contemporary galleries), The Great Wall, The Central Academy of Fine Art, Xian University, The Terra Cotta Warriors, and numerous museums.
